A Letter from Bill Haskett
The first quarter has been
a very busy time for Advantos. We are in the process of upgrading and expanding
all of our servers from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2, which is a 64 bit operating
system that runs on the most current hardware. We are doing this to dramatically
improve server performance, to allow our upgraded software to perform more flawlessly, and
to expand our capacity to provide for our new clients.
We run all of our web services using Windows IIS on Windows 2008 R2. This is a very
stable and reliable platform. Our Hometastic Web Portal software runs in Microsoft's
.NET framework (also on Windows 2008 R2), as does our ERP BackOffice application.
The roadmap for our ERP BackOffice
software will include use of most browsers, predictive searches, a user query builder, and
improved documentation. The ability to use most browsers should be the very first
roadmap implementation and should be available by the third quarter of 2012.
We are now encouraging our current ASP clients to upgrade to our version 7 back office
application. Upgrading is very easy and doesn't cost anywhere near what you'd expect.
This is unlike our competitors, who charge very large new licensing, upgrade, and
consulting fees. It normally takes just a few hours and can mostly be done overhight.
We have made a large number of enhancements to our ERP application. During our upgrade process
all enhancement requests were directed towards our upgraded ERP application.
Now, as clients upgrade, they will be able to avail themselves of these enhancements,
and will be able to use them much quicker.
We hope winter slips out quietly and spring comes in offering a renewed sense of purpose.
We look forward to working with all in the future.
With Best Regards,
Bill Haskett
